Common problems and what to check
Engine: Toyota 2GR-FE/FKS (3.5 V6)
- rupture of the rubber VVT-i oil line on early engines (before ~2010)
- water pump leak
- valve cover gasket leaks
What to check when buying: whether the VVT-i oil line has been replaced with a metal one; coolant traces near the water pump.
Tip: Reliable V6; the water pump is usually replaced together with the accessory belt.
